Harry Beltik is a traditional learner and one of the best chess players in Kentucky. He is left in awe of Beth's talent and enters her life when she is at a low point.
Although initially committed to becoming a chess grandmaster, by the end of the series he has become an assistant manager of a grocery store while studying to become an electrical engineer.
He is played by Harry Melling.
